Tyson Foods is deploying its 53-foot mobile kitchen and with help from Sam’s Club plans to set up a major feeding center in Columbia, S.C., for the flood victims in that area.

Teams from both companies will prepare and serve meals beginning Friday (Oct. 16) throughout the weekend for the disaster victims, first responders and volunteers.

Tyson said its mobile kitchen and its Meals that Matter program is capable of feeding more than 10,000 meals per day.

“During times of disaster, we realize many residents may be so focused on recovery that they may not have time or access to prepare a hot meal,” said Tyson Foods spokesman Derek Burleson.

In addition to the free hot sandwiches from Tyson Foods, Sam’s Club will provide chips and drinks at the feeding center event.
