General surgeon Dr. Laurence Lo has joined Sparks Health System in Fort Smith, and Dr, Jason Seiter recently passed a high-level board certification.
Lo will work with the Surgical Associates of Fort Smith located at 923 Lexington Ave. He comes to the Sparks clinic from a Level 2 trauma center in Odessa, Texas, where he specialized in trauma surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Lo also is experienced in treating breast cancer patients and those with chronic wounds. He has practiced in Dallas, Benton, Ark., and Junction City, Kan. Before that he was a staff surgeon in the U.S. Navy at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Twentynine Palms, Calif.
Seiter recently passed the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS) Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery Board Exam. By passing this exam, as well as the ABFAS Foot Surgery Board exam, Seiter achieved the highest level of Board Certification offered by his surgical society. Seiter completed his doctoral training in podiatry at the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Fla. Following a three year surgical residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital – in affiliation with Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Ct. – Seiter completed an additional one year of advanced surgical fellowship training at the Center for Reconstructive Foot Surgery.
Dr. Kenneth Seiter, Jason’s brother, has also passed the ABFAS Foot Surgery Board Exam. The brothers are now board-certified and Fellows of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS). The Seiters practice at the Sparks Foot and Ankle Center on Dodson Avenue, and perform surgeries and provide inpatient care at Sparks Regional Medical Center.
